Frequently Asked Questions
How many people can stay in the Cabin?
We prefer to limit the number of Guests to couples with a child or two - no more than 4 people. The Cabin has a king size bed in the loft and a sleeper sofa downstairs. We feel guests will better enjoy their stay if the size remains within these numbers.

Where did you get the cabin?
The Cabin was built in the Foust hollow area of Anderson County, not too far from where it sits today. It was moved several years ago to a location near the Clinch River where restoration began. We purchased the Cabin in 1998 and moved it (using a house-moving company!) to our property soon thereafter. It complements our home which is three similar cabins combined into one larger home.

What is there to do in Anderson County, TN?
It depends on your interest and when you are visiting. For example, in the Summer, Norris Lake is one of the finest lakes in the Southeast. Unlike many of the other TVA lakes, there is no barge traffic on Norris. Certain days of the week can draw a lot of recreational boaters, but often during the week you can find true solitude on Norris Lake – a rarity these days.
In the fall when the leaves are turning, the local forests are rich with color. The Museum of Appalachia has its Annual Homecoming in early October, which draws craftsmen and artists from all over the USA. Usually, 25,000 visitors come to the Museum during the week of Homecoming.
Norris is close to Knoxville, Oak Ridge & Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg – there are plenty of sports, theater, Arts and outdoor activities to keep you busy.

Do you serve a traditional breakfast at your Cabin?
A typical breakfast in the Cabin would include sausage or country ham & biscuits, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and yogurt for guests to enjoy at their leisure in the Cabin.

Are there any craft shops in the area?
Yes – the community craft shop is located at the entrance road to the Cabin – approximately .25 miles away. Local craftsmen display their wares at the community craft shop and conduct workshops frequently. The Museum of Appalachia has many items produced by local craftsmen – jellies, quilts, recipe books, pottery and many more items are on display and are available for purchase.

How many cabins do you have?
Presently there is only one. We have another log cabin under construction and is currently estimated for completion in 2009. This log cabin is almost 220 years old. It will have two bedrooms and will have all the amenities of our first cabin.
